Become a Cunning Warrior with Destiny 2 Top Hunter Builds

Welcome, Guardian, to the world of Destiny 2! As a new Hunter, you may be wondering how to optimize your Hunter class and explore its unique abilities. We have two essential Hunter builds that will elevate your gameplay in PVE and PVP and help you carve your path as a skilled Hunter. Toss on your cloak and explore some Destiny 2 top Hunter builds!

Solar Hunter using Young Ahamkara’s Spine:

Most Destiny 2 top Hunter builds focus on their unique abilities. Young Ahamkara's Spine is all about infinite explosive abilities for your solar subclass! This top Hunter build will keep your abilities charged and will keep you alive.

Exotic Armour:

This build uses Young Ahamkara’s Spine, which powers up your tripmine grenades and returns grenade energy on solar ability damage. It creates a fun ability loop that will incinerate the enemies of the Traveler.

Subclass setup:

The solar subclass likes keeping your abilities charged and ready to go! You should be using the tripmine grenade, along with the knife trick melee ability to maximize your grenade energy return and the gambler’s dodge to refresh your melee. The Blade Barrage super will maximize your DPS.

For this build, Hunters should be using the Gunpowder Gamble and Knock ‘em Down aspects to for the occasional extra-strong ignition grenade and to be refunded throwing knives while radiant. Several fragments will be useful in ensuring your abilities stay up and you stay strong:

·      Ember of Resolve, to cure you with grenade kills.

·      Ember of Torches, where melee ability attacks make you radiant.

·      Ember of Blistering, which gives you grenade energy when killing enemies with ignitions.

·      Ember of Eruption, which makes your ignitions bigger.

Some specific mods will help you keep your abilities up and running – Impact Induction (will reduce your grenade cooldown on melee hits), Heavy Handed / Firepower (generates orbs of power on melee/grenade kills, respectively) and Recuperation (which replenishes health by picking up an Orb of Power) will all ensure you stay alive and ready to roll.

A comprehensive guide to the solar subclass for all three subclasses can be found here.

Weapons:

Fantastic primary weapons for any Destiny 2 top hunter builds are ones that inflict status effects or damage boosts. A great one to pair with Young Ahamkara's Spine would be the Ammit AR2 . Give it the incandescent perk; Ammit will spread scorch to targets after a kill, which will let you cause more ignitions and keep your abilities charged. Find out exactly what you want on your Ammit AR2 here.

Playstyle Tips:

Use your tripmine first, which will scorch targets and blow them up. Every knife hit from your powered melee ability will reduce your tripmine cooldown, and every kill with them will refund your knife while you are radiant! Rinse and repeat; you will cycle through your grenade and melee abilities and will occasionally have an extra-strong ignition grenade to use in a pinch. Your grenade will heal you, so it’ll help save you when you’re in a pinch. Orbs of Power will do the same thing – keep picking those up to stay hot!

Out of all Destiny 2 top hunter builds, this one is special – it's one of the best in class for clearing rooms full of enemies! It’s so much fun blowing things up with your abilities and being able to do it again so soon… your enemies will have to watch out unless they want to get burned.

Void Hunter using Wormhusk Crown:

Destiny 2 top hunter builds need to be strong in PVP too; this build for Hunters centres around the Wormhusk Crown exotic helmet. This build focuses on survivability, agility, and hit-and-run tactics to outmaneuver and outlast opponents.

Exotic Armour

The Wormhusk Crown is the centerpiece of this build, granting a significant health regeneration upon dodging. This ability allows you to quickly recover health during engagements and gain an advantage in one-on-one encounters.

Subclass setup:

Keeping your dodge primed and ready is key in most Destiny 2 top hunter builds, and this one is no exception. The more you dodge, the more often you can get your health back in a pinch. Use the Vanishing Step aspect to turn invisible with your dodge and use the Stylish Executioner aspect to turn invisible and gain enhanced sight when defeating a void-debuffed enemy. Your Snare Bomb melee will weaken your enemies, and use Marksman's dodge to reload your weapons whenever you use the sneaky manoeuvre. The Spectral Blades super will let you rip and tear through other guardians like butter!

The fragments are less important here, but a few notables will enhance your play:

Equip mods that prioritize mobility to enhance your overall agility and make your dodge cooldown shorter. Utility Kickstart will grant you some dodge energy when you use it.

Play around with other void subclass fragments, which can be found here.

Weapons:

Funnelweb is a great void submachine gun that is incredibly effective in close quarters combat, and will pair well with the Marksman's dodge reload.

Playstyle tips:

You'll excel at hit-and-run tactics, utilizing the health regeneration from the Wormhusk Crown to swiftly recover and re-engage in fights. Combine this with the stealth and close-quarters prowess of the Nightstalker subclass, and you'll become a challenging target to eliminate. Master the art of evasion, strike from the shadows, and emerge victorious in the PvP arena.

These Destiny 2 top Hunter builds are sure to make you a menace in PVE and PVP, and will provide a strong base for you as a new player. Your enemies won't know what hit them!
